The short version
Your grows, observations, photos and harvest records live on your device. We never receive a copy of them — there is nowhere for us to send them, because Primordia has no servers.
There is no account and no sign-in, anywhere in the app. Pro is unlocked through your App Store or Google Play purchase, not a Primordia login.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no ad network and no tracking code in Primordia. The only thing the app talks to over the network is our subscription provider, and only about whether you have bought Pro.
You can delete everything by deleting the app, reset it from Settings, or delete an individual grow from its own screen.
What we collect
Primordia is built local-first, so almost nothing you enter ever leaves your phone. There is no Primordia account and no Primordia server — what follows is close to the entire list.
Information you enter. Species and strain names, substrate and method, dates, conditions you log, notes, photographs, harvest weights, the room labels you make up, and the display name you can optionally set in Settings. All of it is stored on your device only. We never receive any of it, including the name — it is there so the app can greet you, not so anyone can identify you.
Purchase information. If you buy Pro, the App Store or Google Play processes the payment and shares an entitlement status with the app through RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider — see Purchases & Pro below for what RevenueCat receives.
That's it. We do not collect your email, real name, location, contacts, advertising identifier, or any analytics about how you use the app.
Data kept on your device
Your journal — grows, observations, photos, harvest records, your settings — is written to Primordia's own storage on your phone. It's included in your own device backups if you have those enabled with Apple or Google, under their policies rather than ours.
You can make your own backup file any time from Back up my grows in the Settings tab, and share it wherever you like — that's free for everyone, and we never see it. The file is a single JSON document containing everything the app holds except the photo files themselves, which are too large for the share sheet; turn on Save photos to gallery if you want the images to survive a move to a new phone.
If you delete the app without exporting a backup first, that data is gone. We can't recover records we never received.
When you share something
Backups, spreadsheet exports, harvest cards and grow stories are all handed to your phone's own share sheet. Primordia never uploads them — you pick the destination, and if you cancel the sheet nothing has left the device.
Once you have sent something to a messaging app, a cloud drive or a friend, it is governed by that service's terms and privacy policy, not this one.
Forecasts & insights
Primordia estimates when a grow should fruit, schedules its reminders from that estimate, and — on Insights — compares your grows against the forecast and against each other. After a couple of finished grows of the same species it starts using your own pace instead of the reference ranges.
Every one of those numbers is computed on your device from records already on your device. There is no cloud model, no inference API, and no prompt, transcript or grow record sent anywhere for processing. Nothing from your journal is used to train anything.
Photos & camera
Primordia asks for camera and photo-library access only when you attach an image to a grow. Photos are moved into the app's own storage on your device and stay there.
If you turn on "Save photos to gallery" in the Settings tab, a copy is also saved to your camera roll — that setting is off by default, because your camera roll syncs to the cloud on both platforms and we don't want to opt you into that silently.
Reminders & notifications
Primordia can remind you to check on a grow, and can tell you when one is due to start fruiting. If you allow notifications, those are scheduled by your phone's own operating system and fire locally.
There is no push server and no device token: nothing about your grows, your schedule, or the fact that you use the app is transmitted in order to deliver a reminder. You can turn them off from the Settings tab or in your system settings.
Purchases & Pro
Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time lifetime unlock, through the App Store or Google Play. We never see your card details.
Purchases are managed by RevenueCat, which identifies your device with an anonymous purchaser ID tied to your App Store or Google Play account — never to a Primordia account, because there isn't one. Alongside the purchase receipt, RevenueCat's SDK sends the ordinary technical information any network request carries or needs to attribute a sale: your device model and operating system version, the app version, your language and country, and the IP address the request came from. It reports back an entitlement status so the app knows which features to unlock. We do not enable RevenueCat's advertising-identifier collection, so your IDFA or Android advertising ID is never gathered.
None of your grow records, notes, photos or harvest data are sent to RevenueCat, or to anyone else.
Service providers
Primordia has no backend of its own, so the list of outside parties who ever see anything is short:
PROVIDER
PURPOSE
Apple, Google
App distribution and subscription billing
RevenueCat
Subscription and entitlement management, keyed to an anonymous purchaser ID. Runs its own sales reporting on that purchase data
That is the whole list. There is no hosting provider, no database, and no crash-reporting or analytics service embedded in Primordia — because none of your grow data ever reaches a server for one to process.
Retention & deletion
Your journal lives on your device and stays there until you delete it. You can remove a single grow and everything logged against it from that grow's own screen, clear every grow, room and harvest with Reset data at the bottom of the Settings tab, or uninstall the app. There is no account and no synced copy for us to retain or delete on your behalf.
Deleting a grow takes its photographs with it, and so does Reset data— the image files are removed from Primordia's storage, not just the records that pointed at them. A copy you chose to save to your camera roll is yours to keep or delete there; the app does not reach back into your library.
RevenueCat and the app stores keep purchase and billing records under their own retention rules, independent of Primordia. Those records survive deleting the app — which is what lets Restore purchases give you Pro back on a new phone.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete personal information, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent. Because we don't collect or store your grow data ourselves, most of these rights are already satisfied by design — it's already exclusively on your device, exportable and deletable at any time from inside the app.
For anything relating to a purchase, write to us and we'll help, though the underlying transaction records sit with Apple, Google, or RevenueCat.
Children
Primordia is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them — in practice, we don't collect personal information from anyone, since the app has no accounts.
Changes
When this policy changes we update the effective date above. For material changes we'll also say so in the app before they take effect.
